Winter UPdate

So much is changing on my website these days! Lots of new art will be added from 2010 to my site, and perhaps my blog will be moving to wordpress?!?!?! probably!

I have had lots of time to post in my tumblr of all the things that inspire/influence me. I also think it is time to start a new sketchbook (IRL!).

I have drawings up at 1601, (a bar at 10th and Tasker!) thanks to Mark Price. I have 4 hearts in the HEART Show at Storage Space (1414 S. Darien St.) this Friday Feb. 11 at 6pm. AND something super fun is happening at Cha Cha'razzi (1918 S. Bancroft St.) on Saturday Feb. 12 at 8pm...The Magnetic Fields 69 Love Songs are going to be performed in their entirety! With a different guest singer for EACH SONG! I will be performing "Luckiest Guy on the Lower East Side"!!!!! So much fun art stuff is happening even in the coldest of months here in Philadelphia, and it's VERY motivating and exciting indeed.

Also this winter I have been BAKING UP A STORM. Baking up a SNOW Storm! (NO PLEASE NO MORE SNOW)... Some of the successful recipes include fig pecan scones. Today I made these cookies and they turned out ok! I put brown rice syrup sweetened chocolate chips in them which was a really good idea. Speaking of baked goods...I have been off refined sugars for over a month now. I usually bake with maple syrup/sugar or honey. (I'm not 100% off, but I'm doing extremely well with how addicted to sugar my brain is)

Last but not least I was looking through my flickr favorites and saw that there have been 1,127 views of my tattoo on Liam's flickr! WHAT! And here's one of my favorites...a portrait of Zoe Strauss taken by a neighborhood boy. That POSE!

So Nice To Finally EAT You

OPEN CALL!
So Nice To Finally EAT You
S. N. T. F. M. Y. Issue #2
A FOOD ZINE

In May 2007 the Mail Art Collective was created to help people correspond with others and show their art to others all over the world. At the end of its success in October 2008 a zine of art from artists who participated in the Mail Art Collective called "So Nice To Finally Meet You" was created. S.N.T.F.M.Y. was released in March 2009, an edition of 100, and has sold all over the world and was noted by the Philadelphia City Paper.

It's now 2 years later, and I believe it is time for Issue #2. And what better topic than FOOD?!
"So Nice To Finally Eat You" is now accepting submissions. The due date for submissions is December 31, 2010.
I'm looking for food stories, reviews, recipes, photos, drawings, comics and whatever you think would be perfect for this type of zine! The zine will be printed in one color but if you have an idea for something color, please tell me, we can work something out. When do we eat? Well, the release date is Late Winter/Early Spring 2011 accompanied by a zine release party potluck. Stay Tuned...

Please email kingsley.quigley@gmail.com with all submissions and questions

Mail your submissions to:

Summer, be OVER

Today I took down the show Shelby and I had at Benna's Cafe this past month. It was a great one and I wanted to thank everyone for coming to the opening and checking it out throughout the month! And a special thank you for those who purchased 4 out of 5 of my pieces! It is exciting to know my art will be in the homes of kind people like you.

Stay tuned for Fringe Festival City!
